Heading to the Iowa State Fair? Be sure to visit the Patty & Jim Cownie Cultural Center, where you can see great fine arts and woodwork entries from all over Iowa, like this amazing first-place entry from longtime DMWWA member Tom Whalley.

Find the Woodworking, Carving and Turning divisions at the north end of the second floor along with live demonstrations by the Des Moines Woodturners, and Fine Arts at the south end of the Third floor. It’s worth the hike up the hill!
